Fuzzbook has some kind kind words and a premiere from the debut Blood Cousin EP.
‘You Won (or, We Have All Lost)’ is the debut EP from Virginia based lo-folkers Blood Cousin.
“Theme of the Raven” is taken from the EP which borders the thin red, white and blue line between Americana and dark folk. The 4 tracks are distantly dreamy, kind of like what I imagine an EP recorded by a ghost might sound like.
The EP is available to stream now courtesy of the excellent FURIOUS HOOVES and will be available via download or 3” mini-CD soon.

There are reports the Charlotte Bobcats are looking to change their name back to the Charlotte Hornets, a name (and high radness level) held from 1988-2002. For us here at Furhoof, this is fantastic news. One can only hope they revert back to the 90s uniforms/logo as well.

I also can’t help to think that the name change has something to do with the fact that the Bobcats have never held their own website… check out our friends at www.charlottebobcats.com

Thanks for the love Flannel Gurl!

We are extremely stoked for and proud of our friend Ryan “The Hornet” McCardle who helps us do a lot of different design things, such as doing the b-side etching for the CityCop record or the layout for the Trust Fall record and the overall art direction of I Got Brains Fest. Along with helping us, he does design work for GRAVEFACE RECORDS who recently released the new The Appleseed Cast (official page) record entitled Illumination Ritual in which Ryan did the entire design and layout. If you’re ever in the need for someone to help you do design work please email Ryan a.k.a The Hornet at hello@ryanmccardle.com! It is also worth noting that he co-runs a pretty sweet record label called Furious Hooves with our wonderful friend T.j. Hatcher and they have put out some of our favorite releases in recent memory.

Give a warm welcome to the newest member of the furhoof family: Nadine Carina.
The Swiss singer/songwriter, currently living in Liverpool (UK), is making an art of experimenting in the way she records music. Her latest EP finds inspiration from an old Tascam Portastudio. Warm and noisy sounding, her latest EP includes songs ranging from gospel-like a cappella harmonies to melancholic folk which recall some of the vibe of her 2011 debut Magic Box, but dwells even deeper through her introspective thoughts. The self titled EP will be released through Furious Hooves this April 2013.

Goodbye 2012 / Hello 2013!
We have a lot of nice plans for the new year and we are super pumped to announce our very first vinyl release! It’s with St Louis native Tyler Duddy, aka 1,000 Pieces (go like his facebook page). Check out the mathy single about a rat crossing the ocean on the Mayflower.
December 21st 2012. It’s almost here. Whatever you believe, we have something to get you in the mood. Blood Cousin surprised us tonight with the first single from an EP, soon to be released in the winter of 2013. “And Here We Are, 9 Meals Away From Anarchy” builds up a doomsday scenario for all of us here at Furious Hooves… and frankly we’re excited to see what comes next.
