Pretty cool. 1,000 Pieces Yellow & Black & Black was listed in the top 5 adds at SCAD Radio last week. View the post here.
Goodbye 2012 / Hello 2013!
We have a lot of nice plans for the new year and we are super pumped to announce our very first vinyl release! It’s with St Louis native Tyler Duddy, aka 1,000 Pieces (go like his facebook page). Check out the mathy single about a rat crossing the ocean on the Mayflower.
The ever so great Bandcamp Hunter just featured Man Eating Sloth’s newest EP Schitzengigz on their website and had just wonderful things to say about it and us. Here’s what they had to say:
Whoever it was that alerted me to this label Furious Hooves recently - thank you. Some great music on their Bandcamp page and they have a fine slogan : “Independent Music + 1990s Basketball”. Digging the Man Eating Sloth sound - chilled electronic explorations that remind me of Cluster at times. Plus they’ve got a song called “Smacked By Monkeys”.
10s all ‘round.

Congrats to Man Eating Sloth for getting his song “The Way (You Make Me Feel)” on this month’s BIRP! Indie Playlist. Check it out, along with many other great tracks, at the link above and give him some votes if you dig the song, please. Thanks!

This amazing festival is coming up this summer in Blacksburg, VA called I Got Brains Fest. Our amazing friends at Flannel Gurl Records are putting it together, so you know it will be good. Furhoof’s very own Ryan McCardle will be handling the art and design of it all and overall it should all be a whole lotta rad. Check out the I Got Brains tumblr for a (continuously updating) list of bands to play and the Flannel Gurl website for all of their past, present and soon-to-be releases.
We (Jonathan & Kimmi) are extremely excited to be organizing this Festival because it has been a very long, but wonderful, two years of work doing All Ages shows in southwest VA. Within the past two years we have had the immense pleasure of meeting some of the best and most talented people who we are honored to call friends!
This festival is a way of saying thank you to everyone: bands, friends and attendees alike who have pushed us along with your art, your presence or your words encouraging us to keep going! We would not be where we are today if it were not for all of you!
(Taken from their “Welcome” post on I Got Brains Fest tumblr)
You can now go get a limited edition Bedroom tape of Toys EP to have as your very own. All handmade. All limited. All love.
We just updated our ABOUT page with individual ARTISTS pages from the Furhoof Family!
Check it out, discover new music and tell us what you think!
Blood Cousin just sent us a new song in progress and we wanted to let you all in on it! As you may (or may not) know, Blood Cousin has only one other song out which was released this past Halloween on a split with mumbledust from Furious Hooves.
Here’s the debut song from Some, expecting a release of sorts in the nearby future from Furious Hooves. Originally written while in the short-lived duo Snosberries, “D.O.G.” is now making it’s internet debut for all those lovers of slo-pop / indie folk sweetness, which is Some.
